All Division age groups are based on the calendar year (January to December).

U5 Coed

For 4 and 5 year-old girls and boys (2020, 2019). U5 division plays on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at local Stouffville diamonds. Format: Practice 6:30 to 7:00 PM, Game 7:00 to 7:30 PM. Players will learn the fundamentals of softball through age-appropriate activities. Tees and foam bats are used for hitting and various sized balls for easier handling. Entire Home team bats, then teams switch. Players will switch positions on the field throughout the inning. Umpires are not used at this level. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. All other equipment is provided.

U7 Coed

For 6 and 7 year-old girls and boys (2018, 2017). U7 division plays Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at local Stouffville diamonds. Format: Practice 6:30 to 7:00 PM, Game 7:00 to 7:30 PM. Players are successful each time at bat as they are pitched 3 balls by a coach from their team and, if unsuccessful, will be given a tee to hit off for the remaining 2 balls. Entire Home team bats, then teams switch. Players will switch positions on the field throughout the inning. Umpires are not used at this level. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. All other equipment is provided.

U9 Coed

For 8 and 9 year-old girls and boys (2016, 2015). U9 division plays Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at local Stouffville diamonds. Format: Practice 6:30 to 7:00 PM, Game 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Pitching development starts at this level. The first 5 weeks players are pitched 5 balls by a coach on their team, at Week 6 the format changes from 3 balls pitched by player on their team, if batter is unsuccessful at hitting coach from same team comes in to pitch 2 more balls. If batter is unsuccessful after 5 pitches, they are considered an out. All players are equally placed in the infield and outfield throughout the course of the game. Although a formal score is not kept, 3 outs and 5 runs rules apply. One Junior umpire is provided at this level. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. All other equipment is provided.

U11 Girls

For 10 and 11 year-old girls (2014, 2013). This is the first division where players are split by gender. Girls will play on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Biweekly divisional practices depend on diamond availability. Pitcher will pitch to the opposing team. Ball size is 11 inches. Runs are counted and teams switch after 3 outs or 5 runs. All players are placed in the infield and outfield throughout the course of the game. A plate and base umpire are provided, based on availability. Teams will travel to Richmond Hill, Aurora, Markham and Newmarket (dependant on available teams). Select is available for U11 Girls. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. Baseball cleats are highly recommended.

U13 Girls

For 12 and 13 year-old girls (2012, 2011). Girls will play Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Biweekly divisional practices depend on diamond availability. Similar format as the U10 Girls division, with further pitching and base distances. Teams will travel to Richmond Hill, Aurora, Markham and Newmarket (dependant on available teams). Select Rep is available for U13 Girls. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. Baseball cleats are highly recommended.

U11/U13 Boys

For 10 to 13 year-old boys (2014 - 2011). This is the first division where players are split by gender. Boys will play Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Biweekly divisional practices depend on diamond availability. Pitchers will pitch to the opposing team. Ball size is 11 inches. Runs are counted and teams switch after 3 outs or 5 runs. U15 Girls

For 14 and 15 year-old girls (2010, 2009). U15 Girls participates in the York North Loop and travels to Richmond Hill, Aurora, Markham and Newmarket (dependant on team availability). Girls will play Tuesday evenings from 8:30 to 10:00 PM (with some games played at looping associations on Thursdays). Biweekly divisional practices depend on diamond availability. Ball size changes to 12 inches. Select is available for U15 Girls. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. Baseball cleats are highly recommended.

NOTE: U15 Girls have the choice of playing in the U15 Coed division.

U15 Boys/Coed 

For 14 and 15 year-old boys and girls (2010, 2009). This division participates in the York Simcoe Loop and travels to Bradford and East Gwillimbury (with the potential of future named associations). Each team has a home diamond on a different night. Stouffville’s home night is TBD. Nights of play will vary each week Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 10:00 PM. Biweekly divisional practices depend on diamond availability. Ball size changes to 12 inches. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. Baseball cleats are highly recommended.

U17 Boys/Coed

For 16 to 17 year-old boys and girls (2008, 2007). This division participates in the York Simcoe Loop and travels to Bradford and East Gwillimbury (with the potential of future named associations). Each team has a home diamond on a different night. Stouffville’s home night is TBD. Nights of play will vary each week Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 10:00 PM. Biweekly divisional practices depend on diamond availability. This format is similar to the U15 Coed division, with further pitching and base distances. Select is available for U17 Boys. U17/U21 Girls

For 16 to 21 year-old girls (2008 - 2003). The U17 and U21 Girls divisions are combined and U21 girls are equally assigned to each team. This division participates in the York North Loop and travels to Richmond Hill, Aurora, Markham and Newmarket (dependant on team availability). Girls play Wednesday evenings from 8:30 to 10:00 PM. Biweekly divisional practices depend on diamond availability. This format is similar to the U15 division, with further pitching and base distances. Select is available for both U17 Girls and U21 Girls. Required equipment: Glove, helmet with cage, and water bottle. Baseball cleats are highly recommended.

NOTE: U17 and U21 Girls have the choice of playing in the U17 and U20 Coed divisions.

U21 Boys/Coed

For 18 to 21 year old boys and girls (2006-2003). This division participates in the York Simcoe Loop and travels to Bradford and East Gwillimbury (with the potential of future named associations).
